The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match Pedro Britto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodolfo Siqueira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Geovani Borges took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodolfo Siqueira. Rodolfo Siqueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of A A Arizona booed when Figueira SC FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luís Bertassi in the 16th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Figueira SC FSCMZ's Pedro Britto got a free kick in the 17th minute. A collision led to Figueira SC FSCMZ getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Danilo Marques hit a great ball. Mauro Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcelo Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Álvaro de Castro in the 23rd minute. After a rather tough play, A A Arizona's Cido Cordeiro got a free kick in the 24th minute. Chicão Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Marcelo Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodolfo Siqueira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evandro do Valle went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. A collision led to A A Arizona getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Álvaro de Castro hit a great ball. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind A A Arizona's goalkeeper Rodolfo Siqueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 41st minute of the match Renatinho Rodrigues sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodolfo Siqueira skillfully saved the ball. Evaristo Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in A A Arizona's zone, Evaristo Meira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Siqueira came out of the goal and Evaristo Meira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evaristo Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evaristo Meira to make the kick off. Evaristo Meira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rodolfo Siqueira firmly grabbed it by the left post. Renatinho Rodrigues succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 57th playminute. Rodolfo Siqueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renatinho Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to A A Arizona getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Pedro Luís Bertassi hit a great ball. Evaristo Meira struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Rodolfo Siqueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Figueira SC FSCMZ. Rodolfo Siqueira made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Luiz Guilherme Paiva sent off a good shot on target. After 75 minutes, Simão Sena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A A Arizona and the Figueira SC FSCMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th match minute, A A Arizona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simão Sena to maneuver through the defense. Maicon do Nascimento took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rodolfo Siqueira. A A Arizona's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Cido Cordeiro fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A A Arizona's protests and gave Cido Cordeiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 81 played minutes A A Arizona got a freekick which was hit by Cido Cordeiro. In the 83rd minute, Renatinho Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evaristo Meira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Rodolfo Siqueira made a huge save. With his leg Rodolfo Siqueira managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Figueira SC FSCMZ's Evaristo Meira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Evaristo Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Siqueira having to interfere. Renatinho Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Rodolfo Siqueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovani Borges's late challenge caught a A A Arizona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geovani Borges helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th match minute, Figueira SC FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovani Borges to maneuver through the defense. A A Arizona's Vágner Pitta got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simão Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Figueira SC FSCMZ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
