The Facopo FBPA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlinhos de Medeiros should have stopped the shot. 9 minutes into the game, Marcelo Souza recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rodolfo Siqueira. Marcelo Souza showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Facopo FBPA were furious when Silvinho de Lima was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Carlinhos de Medeiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 20th minute Pedro Luís Bertassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Augusto Alcântara fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Facopo FBPA's protests and gave Augusto Alcântara a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of A A Arizona booed when Facopo FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Facopo FBPA's Carlinhos de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luís Bertassi in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Cido Cordeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A A Arizona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Facopo FBPA the free kick. A collision led to A A Arizona getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Cido Cordeiro hit a great ball. When Edgar Godoi fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A A Arizona's protests and gave Edgar Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Edgar Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Very clever Walmyr Simões succeeded in the 29th minute to sneak a kick past A A Arizona's goalkeeper making the score 2-2 as the ball drove through the left cross. Carlinhos de Medeiros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Luís Bertassi went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. In the 38th minute, Tarcisio Terra made a precise shot to the right of Carlinhos de Medeiros. Facopo FBPA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Pedro Luís Bertassi took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlinhos de Medeiros. Carlinhos de Medeiros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vágner Pitta to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of A A Arizona booed when Facopo FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 55 minutes, Mauro Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A A Arizona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauro Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 56 minutes into the game, Flávio Carioca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Facopo FBPA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A A Arizona the free kick. After a rather tough play, Facopo FBPA's Reginaldo Linhares got a free kick in the 59th minute. After 61 minutes of play, A A Arizona's Pedro Luís Bertassi made it 2-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlinhos de Medeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carlinhos de Medeiros was a little too slow when Vágner Pitta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 2-8. In the 69th match minute, Facopo FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Carlinhos de Medeiros was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Chicão Freire capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. In the 84th minute of the game, Augusto Alcântara landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 84 minutes of play A A Arizona's Edgar Godoi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Facopo FBPA's Cido Cavalcante was substituted for Augusto Alcântara. A collision led to A A Arizona getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Edgar Godoi hit a great ball. Carlinhos de Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Luís Bertassi in the 87th minute. After a rather tough play, Facopo FBPA's Fernandão Aparecido got a free kick in the 88th minute. Cido Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
