The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Los Galacticos's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille came free, but Zhu Xi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Lu Hong in the 8th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lirarnas Lag's Magnus Arenberg. In the 10th minute, Kaja Kallas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Lirarnas Lag getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Sven-Åke Hjelm hit a great ball. The supporters of Los Galacticos booed when Lirarnas Lag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessio Cinalli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kaja Kallas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kaja Kallas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rune Grep having to make a save. Harald Axelsson's late challenge caught a Los Galacticos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harald Axelsson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Los Galacticos booed when Lirarnas Lag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harald Axelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gustav Stenquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rune Grep showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xie Yue Chao, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hjalmar Kråk was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Lu Hong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rune Grep took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Aimar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Gilesindo Tarapiella had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rune Grep. Lirarnas Lag's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilesindo Tarapiella was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Zhuang Liang Zhen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lirarnas Lag's Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zhu Xi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hjalmar Kråk in the 64th minute of play. Kaja Kallas in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rune Grep, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 67th minute Hjalmar Kråk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zhu Xi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zhu Xi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hjalmar Kråk in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Pablo Aimar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Los Galacticos made a substitution. Kong Jing Kun replaced Kaja Kallas. Rune Grep made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kong Jing Kun in the 75th minute. Rune Grep made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kong Jing Kun in the 78th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Lirarnas Lag's goalkeeper Rune Grep had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilesindo Tarapiella. In the 84th minute Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zhu Xi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Los Galacticos getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Vito Linhares hit a great ball. If Hjalmar Kråk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rune Grep made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Pablo Aimar sent off a good shot on target. When Gilesindo Tarapiella came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Los Galacticos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilesindo Tarapiella couldn't finish the play. Lirarnas Lag succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Los Galacticos had controlled the match.
