The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Felipe Flores fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Gallardeta's protests and gave Felipe Flores a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Flores in the 5th minute of play forced Deportivo Gamberro's goalkeeper Bruno Pascal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roman Reynardo in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Romelio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paulo Romelio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roman Reynardo's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. If Felipe Flores had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 11 played minutes La Gallardeta got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Pancho. La Gallardeta's Paulo Romelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Reynardo in the 12th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match, Roman Reynardo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paulo Romelio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Deportivo Gamberro booed when La Gallardeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Hori didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Romelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Reynardo in the 20th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Deportivo Gamberro's corner Laureano Harri fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Paulo Romelio quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Deportivo Gamberro booed when La Gallardeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruben Dolfo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 minutes, Danilo Liberto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Gallardeta and the Deportivo Gamberro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in La Gallardeta's zone, Eduardo Frantzes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Romelio came out of the goal and Eduardo Frantzes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Primitivo Cordaro charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Primitivo Cordaro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Gamberro's Primitivo Cordaro got a free kick in the 44th minute.

Paulo Romelio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Reynardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 minutes, Marcos Madeo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Gallardeta and the Deportivo Gamberro players grew even worse after the yellow card. Deportivo Gamberro had won after a very even match.
