Garanhão do SUL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tony Nordström ran over to the corner to take the kick. After the first half Garanhão do SUL were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgar Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 91st minute, Amado Vigário reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gregory Pegrum. The goal made the score 0-8. In the 97th minute, Albano Leizarraga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gregory Pegrum was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. When the final whistle sounded Garanhão do SUL left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Planetstaden IK.
