With an all-out effort, Goiás Esporte Clube's Diamantino Senna threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcus Diniz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 7 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's Umberto Peres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diamantino Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Valdir Neves ran over to the corner to take the kick. 12 minutes into the match, Futbol Club RRFV's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Diniz came free, but Diamantino Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna got control of the ball when Marcus Diniz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute, Diamantino Senna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Futbol Club RRFV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Diamantino Senna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcus Diniz's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Natanael Paraense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diamantino Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Diniz in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the match Goiás Esporte Clube got a corner. Futbol Club RRFV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Valdir Neves ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcus Diniz to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Diniz in the 52nd minute of play forced Futbol Club RRFV's goalkeeper Diamantino Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diamantino Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. With a little luck, Goiás Esporte Clube's Natanael Paraense got control of the ball when Kauã Lira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Goiás Esporte Clube's Natanael Paraense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Goiás Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. Diamantino Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Umberto Peres went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Valdir Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Senna having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Umberto Peres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diamantino Senna was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. After 96 played minutes Futbol Club RRFV got a freekick which was hit by Dorival do Vale.
