Joe Pancken didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maximilian Henning went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Joe Pancken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mesut Özil in the 10th minute of the match. Joe Pancken stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anestis Kotsopoulos's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. In the 12thth minute of the game Anestis Kotsopoulos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter Miami CF's Joe Pancken was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joe Pancken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 20thth minute of the game Anestis Kotsopoulos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter Miami CF's Joe Pancken was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Anestis Kotsopoulos sped through Inter Miami CF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joe Pancken. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mesut Özil in the 25th minute of play forced Inter Miami CF's goalkeeper Joe Pancken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvestre Lizars short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got August Hoffmanns to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Silvestre Lizar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. August Hoffmanns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Anestis Kotsopoulos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joe Pancken was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Hugo Haupt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Pancken having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Hugo Haupt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joe Pancken was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 42nd minute, Kryspin Banach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 46 minutes, Anestis Kotsopoulos made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Inter Miami CF's Joe Pancken tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Rot-Weiss-Essen were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, Inter Miami CF's Joe Pancken got control of the ball when Maximilian Henning tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Inocencio Orti during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Teo Barea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but August Hoffmanns was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teo Barea in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck August Hoffmanns prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hugo Haupt's late challenge caught a Inter Miami CF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Haupt helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Inter Miami CF booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Haupt didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mesut Özil in the 68th minute of play forced Inter Miami CF's goalkeeper Joe Pancken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Anestis Kotsopoulos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joe Pancken. Joe Pancken yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Anestis Kotsopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters rose to their feet, but Anestis Kotsopoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joe Pancken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Anestis Kotsopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters rose to their feet, but Anestis Kotsopoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joe Pancken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Anestis Kotsopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the game, Anestis Kotsopoulos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joe Pancken. Anestis Kotsopoulos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Joe Pancken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, Anestis Kotsopoulos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joe Pancken. Inter Miami CF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anestis Kotsopoulos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. Rot-Weiss-Essen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
