After 4 minutes of play, FC Wil 1900's Tory Pryor made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. August Hoffmanns was left in no man's land by his defense there! Anestis Kotsopoulos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Lionel Paly made a huge save. August Hoffmanns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tory Pryor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute Hugo Haupt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lionel Paly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lionel Paly made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Hugo Haupt sent off a good shot on target. In the 16thth minute of the game Tory Pryor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 17th minute Tory Pryor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19thth minute of the game Tory Pryor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. August Hoffmanns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pirmin Jäggi in the 21st minute of the match. Pirmin Jäggi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Tory Pryor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emery Heller hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the game, Téo Rosa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. August Hoffmanns was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bernhard Zollinger hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Lionel Paly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 35th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 35 minutes, Lionel Paly successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 36th minute Tory Pryor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kryspin Banach's late challenge caught a FC Wil 1900's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kryspin Banach helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Rot-Weiss-Essen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Wil 1900:s goal. August Hoffmanns had in the 38thth minute some difficulties stopping Téo Rosa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 40 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Haupt. Téo Rosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over August Hoffmanns. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Téo Rosa ran back to his position shaking his head. August Hoffmanns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tory Pryor in the 44th minute of play. After the first half FC Wil 1900 were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Anestis Kotsopoulos made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Maximilian Henning cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Lionel Paly was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With an all-out effort, FC Wil 1900's August Hoffmanns threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tory Pryor, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Ivan Dové advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-3 in the 56th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tory Pryor in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck August Hoffmanns prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tory Pryor struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. August Hoffmanns didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Wil 1900. August Hoffmanns stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tory Pryor's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. When FC Wil 1900's Tory Pryor in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tory Pryor in the 70th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tory Pryor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. August Hoffmanns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute Anestis Kotsopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lionel Paly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tory Pryor's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, August Hoffmanns skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. August Hoffmanns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pirmin Jäggi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Téo Rosa was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Wil 1900's players had a chance to rest. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernhard Zollinger during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernhard Zollinger to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Rot-Weiss-Essen's zone, Tory Pryor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. August Hoffmanns came out of the goal and Tory Pryor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The FC Wil 1900 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
