It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Thierry Auroy kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Thierry Auroy notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Switzerland's Kim-André van der Schans. Kim-André van der Schans was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kim-André van der Schans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jocelyn Care, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Réda Kolb's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kim-André van der Schans was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Switzerland's Kim-André van der Schans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Réda Kolb in the 11th minute of play. When France's Thierry Auroy in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Switzerland's goalie prevented a goal. Alain Berset scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christophe Pourre, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kim-André van der Schans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thierry Auroy, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Christophe Pourre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alain Berset's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Kim-André van der Schans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thierry Auroy in the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

France's Christophe Pourre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alain Berset in the 51st minute of play. France were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Switzerland's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Carlos Taillade took the corner. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Réda Kolb took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Kim-André van der Schans to make any attempt to save it. Alain Berset took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christophe Pourre. Christophe Pourre dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Switzerland's Kim-André van der Schans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Switzerland from getting a goal against them. When Ingo Minder fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Switzerland's protests and gave Ingo Minder a yellow card for diving instead. Ingo Minder kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Switzerland's Endrik Fuchs was substituted for Ingo Minder. Switzerland made a substitution. Jonas Herz replaced Gutierre Lauri. The supporters of France booed when Switzerland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingo Minder didn't get a good kick on the ball. France's attentive Robin Clauzel managed to snatch the ball when Endrik Fuchs made a throw-in in the 78th minute of the game. Kim-André van der Schans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Daguenet in the 94th minute of the match.
