In the 14th minute Isto Holttinen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Brunov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Didiet Jeliteng had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bektaş Veli Tokuz. Markham FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Didiet Jeliteng was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Madrid City FC's Alex Brunov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isto Holttinen in the 24th minute of play. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Markham FC's goalkeeper Bektaş Veli Tokuz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 28th minute of the match Madrid City FC got a corner. Markham FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Corrado Zinni ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Gustavo Marques got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-3. 29 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, Isto Holttinen notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Madrid City FC's Alex Brunov. Alex Brunov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alex Brunov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hank Blackburn, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Madrid City FC's Alex Brunov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Madrid City FC from getting a goal against them. The wind increased when Isto Holttinen made the kick off in the second half. Alex Brunov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Driscoll in the 53rd minute of play. Markham FC's Truman Villanueva was substituted for Roman Holder. Bektaş Veli Tokuz made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Didiet Jeliteng sent off a good shot on target. Corrado Zinni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvaro Parco kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Alex Brunov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolo Urtzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Markham FC's Russell Garrett got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 79th minute Isto Holttinen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Brunov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Madrid City FC defense, Monroe Mims kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Brunov. The Madrid City FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Brunov should have stopped the shot. Madrid City FC's Raymond Gour was substituted for Güray Tuncalp. In the 87th minute Bartolo Urtzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Brunov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Markham FC's Bektaş Veli Tokuz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didiet Jeliteng in the 94th minute of play. With a little luck, Markham FC's Bektaş Veli Tokuz got control of the ball when Winarto Rahardjo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Markham FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Madrid City FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Madrid City FC.
