The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Atlético's goal looked a bit too open when Bisambharnatha Denhoy came free, but Arsenio Fasgar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mangotsfield's Rajindar Ragi got a free kick in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Baleren Rujula managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético's supporters rose to their feet, but Baleren Rujula was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jasavira Dhotre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jasavira Dhotre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horacio Calva in the 11th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cirilo Gacel in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jasavira Dhotre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jasavira Dhotre didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horacio Calva went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Cirilo Gacel took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jasavira Dhotre. Jasavira Dhotre dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mangotsfield's goalkeeper Jasavira Dhotre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anudara Bhutia during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 23 played minutes Mangotsfield got a freekick which was hit by Anudara Bhutia. Arsenio Fasgar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karajala Takkar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Horacio Calva sped through Mangotsfield's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jasavira Dhotre. 31 minutes into the game, Atlético's Horacio Calva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jasavira Dhotre made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. In the 35th match minute, Mangotsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rajindar Ragi to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Atlético's Aztore Irigoras got a free kick in the 37th minute. Arsenio Fasgar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bisambharnatha Denhoy in the 40th minute of play. Horacio Calva scored 0-5 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jasavira Dhotre, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 48 minutes into the match, Atlético's goal looked a bit too open when Karajala Takkar came free, but Arsenio Fasgar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Horacio Calva to strike the kick off in the second half. Jaime Lascano kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, Mangotsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Horacio Calva came free, but Jasavira Dhotre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 minutes of play, Mangotsfield's Rajendran Grewal made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arsenio Fasgar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice moves Cirilo Gacel could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Jasavira Dhotre however easily saved by the left post. When Horacio Calva came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Atlético fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horacio Calva couldn't finish the play. Jasavira Dhotre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horacio Calva in the 80th minute of play. With 82 minutes on the clock, Cisco Larquera commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Atlético:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mangotsfield:s goal. The referee gave Mangotsfield a penalty, 85 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Anudara Bhutia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Atlético's Arsenio Fasgar. 2-6. 88 minutes into the match, Aztore Irigoras dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jasavira Dhotre, 2-7. Horacio Calva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Atlético's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
