To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Décio Neto made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Fumo Pedrais sent off a good shot on target. Décio Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulysses Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Vila Zumbi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hílton Vander in the 11th minute. Vila Zumbi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldo Negri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 23 minutes, Vítor da Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vila Zumbi and the Vista Alegre FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vítor da Cunha hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, Vista Alegre FC's Osvaldo Negri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abelardo Barreto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ronaldo Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Fumo Pedrais could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Décio Neto however easily saved by the left post. The Vila Zumbi players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vista Alegre FC were winning 0-3.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Fumo Pedrais in the 54th minute of play forced Vista Alegre FC's goalkeeper Décio Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulysses Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Décio Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fumo Pedrais in the 56th minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Ronaldo Meirelles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vista Alegre FC's Décio Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fumo Pedrais in the 80th minute of play. A collision led to Vista Alegre FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Antônio Carlos Vander hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the match, Vista Alegre FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fumo Pedrais came free, but Décio Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Fumo Pedrais ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Décio Neto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Décio Neto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fumo Pedrais's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Décio Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fumo Pedrais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 99thth minute of the game Fumo Pedrais who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vista Alegre FC's Décio Neto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of Vista Alegre FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Vila Zumbi side.
