After 7 played minutes, Desportivo Coala's Serginho Brito shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mauro Carioca came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Desportivo Coala reached it. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Juninho Rosa put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Orlando Silva. Desportivo Coala's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mazinho Silveira in the 13th minute. Mauro Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivo Tinoco in the 15th minute of play. Orlando Silva was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Virgílio Carioca. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Fábio Mandrak made a kick off. Mazinho Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Mauro Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fábio Mandrak in the 62nd minute of the match. Juninho Rosa scored 4-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Orlando Silva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Desportivo Coala's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fábio Mandrak came free, but Orlando Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st match minute, Desportivo Coala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telmo Martins to maneuver through the defense. Mazinho Silveira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mauro Carioca having to make a save. After 92 minutes, Glauco Mesquita mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LRCA Office Club and the Desportivo Coala players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute, one of LRCA Office Club:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for LRCA Office Club. In the 93rd minute there was a penalty for Desportivo Coala. Mazinho Silveira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mauro Carioca. 4-2. After 97 played minutes LRCA Office Club got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Mesquita. Víktor Hoffmann hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. LRCA Office Club had won after a very even match.
