Murilo Paiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Tadeu do Vale hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute Geovani Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Murilo Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovani Borges in the 13th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the game, Naldo Costa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcelo Medeiros. Naldo Costa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After having played for 17 minutes, Tadeu do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curiphila Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu do Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Augusto Azevedo came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcelo Medeiros could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Figueira SC FSCMZ's Danilo Marques got a free kick in the 21st minute. Murilo Paiva didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Figueira SC FSCMZ's Evaristo Meira shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Marcelo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naldo Costa in the 32nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evaristo Meira in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Murilo Paiva saved Curiphila Eagles from getting behind. In the 37th minute Evaristo Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Figueira SC FSCMZ booed when Curiphila Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Evaristo Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Figueira SC FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Meira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Murilo Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Evaristo Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Murilo Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Curiphila Eagles's Murilo Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Borges in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Naldo Costa made a kick off. If Evaristo Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murilo Paiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Evaristo Meira in the 55th minute. Geovani Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Figueira SC FSCMZ made a substitution. Luiz Guilherme Paiva replaced Evandro do Valle. Marcelo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadeu do Vale in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Figueira SC FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonsinho Donatello to maneuver through the defense. Walmyr do Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 69th minute Kiko Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Figueira SC FSCMZ's Marcelo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Costa in the 70th minute of play. A collision led to Curiphila Eagles getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Patrick Linares hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Curiphila Eagles's zone, Geovani Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murilo Paiva came out of the goal and Geovani Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Figueira SC FSCMZ's Tadeu Alagoano was substituted for Renatinho Rodrigues. After 89 played minutes Curiphila Eagles got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro Seco. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Figueira SC FSCMZ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
