Mauro Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráusio Valladares in the 3rd minute of play. After 4 played minutes ALMA GUERREIRA got a freekick which was hit by Marco Prestes. Mauro Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Quirino in the 8th minute of the match. A collision led to ALMA GUERREIRA getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. José Madureira hit a great ball. Luizão Quirino scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mauro Carioca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 18 minutes into the game, Olívio Velloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LRCA Office Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ALMA GUERREIRA the free kick. After a rather tough play, LRCA Office Club's Olívio Velloso got a free kick in the 18th minute. LRCA Office Club's Mauro Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráusio Valladares in the 23rd minute of play. Olívio Velloso hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After 26 minutes of play, ALMA GUERREIRA's Marco Prestes made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauro Carioca was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute of the match ALMA GUERREIRA got a corner. LRCA Office Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luizão Quirino ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Luizão Quirino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but LRCA Office Club's Mauro Carioca did a great save. Tião Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mauro Carioca came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by ALMA GUERREIRA's Tião Marinho. But to his dismay, Tião Marinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Dráusio Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Mauro Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Marco Prestes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauro Carioca was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. In the 44th minute, Dráusio Valladares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauro Carioca was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marco Prestes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Luizão Quirino shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mauro Carioca showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dráusio Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, LRCA Office Club's Juninho França got a free kick in the 63rd minute. When Dráusio Valladares came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the ALMA GUERREIRA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dráusio Valladares couldn't finish the play. Mauro Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizão Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, LRCA Office Club's goalkeeper Mauro Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tião Marinho. In the 74th minute of the match, Dráusio Valladares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mauro Carioca saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Tião Marinho fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ALMA GUERREIRA's protests and gave Tião Marinho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th minute, Tião Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Carioca was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Luizão Quirino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luizão Quirino really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9. Amadeu Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, LRCA Office Club's Virgílio Carioca got a free kick in the 90th minute. Mauro Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráusio Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ALMA GUERREIRA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
