In the 5th minute of the match, Dudu Magalhães got a very nice opportunity to score, but Abelardo Maranhense was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 8 minutes into the match, Olivedos's goalkeeper Abelardo Maranhense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dudu Magalhães. In the 9th minute of the match Vista Alegre FC got a corner. Olivedos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Igor Souza ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Robustiano Clementi heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Clementi in the 11th minute of play forced Olivedos's goalkeeper Abelardo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Abel de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexsandro da Costa made in the 15th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Abel de Godoi immediately put the ball in play. Alexsandro da Costa hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Abelardo Maranhense made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Dudu Magalhães sent off a good shot on target. Vista Alegre FC's Ronaldo de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Ferraz in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Olivedos's goal looked a bit too open when Robustiano Clementi came free, but Abelardo Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Abelardo Maranhense managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Vista Alegre FC's Robustiano Clementi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Robustiano Clementi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Abelardo Maranhense made a huge save. Abelardo Maranhense made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Dudu Magalhães sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute Magno Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Olivedos's zone, Dudu Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Maranhense came out of the goal and Dudu Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexsandro da Costa during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alexsandro da Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Alexsandro da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Dudu Magalhães made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Olivedos's goal looked a bit too open when Robustiano Clementi came free, but Abelardo Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abelardo Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Galen Kvick, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Vista Alegre FC's Lex Nelis was substituted for Igor Souza. Vista Alegre FC's Elias Proença quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alexsandro da Costa, made in the 80th minute of the game. Robustiano Clementi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Maranhense having to interfere. With a little luck, Vista Alegre FC's Ronaldo de Moraes got control of the ball when Abel de Godoi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th minute, Robustiano Clementi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abelardo Maranhense was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vista Alegre FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Olivedos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
