With a little luck, Guns And Roses's Eustacio Misael got control of the ball when Zico Zellier tried to sneak it across the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Agustin Txatxu came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Nazil Canay made a precise shot to the right of Nery Pumpido. GuateFortín's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Nery Pumpido came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Guns And Roses's Nazil Canay. But to his dismay, Nazil Canay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Thierry Henry put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Eustacio Misael. 28 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Agustin Txatxu came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Thierry Henry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustacio Misael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nazil Canay in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nazil Canay in the 33rd minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eustacio Misael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thierry Henry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. GuateFortín were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Guns And Roses's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Máximo Perrone took the corner. GuateFortín's Máximo Perrone was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eustacio Misael in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With an all-out effort, GuateFortín's Eustacio Misael threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Thierry Henry, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Ivan Lozano got a free kick in the 45th minute. After the first half Guns And Roses were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Admon in the 55th minute of play. The supporters of GuateFortín booed when Guns And Roses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucio Quilo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 minutes GuateFortín's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Segundo Bordat who took care of the corner kick. Segundo Bordat made a great header on Guns And Roses's corner, it was just that GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Henry in the 72nd minute of play forced Guns And Roses's goalkeeper Eustacio Misael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Mario Gomez got a free kick in the 76th minute. Guns And Roses's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
