The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute José Sand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 4th minute, José Sand ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dida Taffarel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Cano in the 7th minute of play forced ITAFUT 4EVER's goalkeeper Nilson Peres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, ITAFUT 4EVER's José Sand sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dida Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins got a free kick in the 12th minute. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Sand in the 15th minute of the match. Nilson Peres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Martins in the 21st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Evelio Rico managed to get in a good position for a shot. ITAFUT 4EVER's supporters rose to their feet, but Evelio Rico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dida Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfredo Martins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Nilson Peres made a huge save. The corner ended in Pedro Luís da Rocha almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ITAFUT 4EVER's Nilson Peres did a great save. Dida Taffarel came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by ITAFUT 4EVER's José Sand. But to his dismay, José Sand quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 38 minutes into the match, ITAFUT 4EVER's José Sand sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dida Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. José Sand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Dida Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dida Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Sand's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Martins made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 52nd minute of play forced ITAFUT 4EVER's goalkeeper Nilson Peres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute, Alfredo Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nilson Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ITAFUT 4EVER's Nilson Peres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 63rd minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, José Sand cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Dida Taffarel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of ITAFUT 4EVER booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaston Gonzalez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jardel Baggio in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dida Taffarel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 76 minutes into the match, ITAFUT 4EVER's Jardel Baggio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dida Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 78th minute ITAFUT 4EVER were awarded a corner. Jean-Paul Møffelmand went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Jean-Paul Møffelmand almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel did a great save. In the 80thth minute of the game German Cano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ITAFUT 4EVER's Nilson Peres was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. German Cano scored 2-4 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nilson Peres, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel got control of the ball when Sidney Bertassi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Jardel Baggio came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ITAFUT 4EVER played a much better game than Marquês de Herval and deserved their victory. The Marquês de Herval players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
