The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tomas Bryngelsson charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomas Bryngelsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Avesta's Marcus Jonasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Giliusson in the 12th minute of play. Johan Sundling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 17th match minute, Avesta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Åke Bolin to maneuver through the defense. Marcus Jonasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Giliusson in the 18th minute of the match. Ertuğrul Ilıcan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Marcus Jonasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Brödraskapets Församling's goal looked a bit too open when Timmy Hedbom came free, but Edgar Lundström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johan Sundling could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Edgar Lundström made a huge save. In the 32nd match minute, Brödraskapets Församling was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taco Svensson to maneuver through the defense. Taco Svensson's late challenge caught a Avesta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Taco Svensson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Avesta booed when Brödraskapets Församling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taco Svensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Lundström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timmy Hedbom, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Brödraskapets Församling's Viktor Botvidsson got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Taco Svensson was shown his second yellow card after 46 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Timmy Hedbom to make the kick off. Timmy Hedbom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute, Timmy Hedbom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgar Lundström was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Sundling in the 60th minute of play forced Brödraskapets Församling's goalkeeper Edgar Lundström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timmy Hedbom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ertuğrul Ilıcans short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Marcus Jonasson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brödraskapets Församling's goalkeeper Edgar Lundström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Avesta's Marcus Jonasson got control of the ball when Ertuğrul Ilıcan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edgar Lundström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Timmy Hedbom went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Timmy Hedbom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ertuğrul Ilıcan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Marcus Jonasson made a huge save. In the 82nd minute Johan Sundling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Lundström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt-Rune Finsberg hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Avesta were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Brödraskapets Församling's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tommy Berg took the corner. The corner ended in Johan Sundling almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Brödraskapets Församling's Edgar Lundström did a great save. Viggo Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Lundström having to interfere. Ertuğrul Ilıcan in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcus Jonasson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Avesta's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
