Carta Vieja F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iratze Canillas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Carta Vieja F.C.'s Rafael Tello got a free kick in the 5th minute. When Iratze Canillas came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Amazonas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iratze Canillas couldn't finish the play. Carta Vieja F.C.'s Ivan Ríos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Carulla in the 8th minute of play. After 9 played minutes Carta Vieja F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Tello. Ivan Ríos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Carulla in the 10th minute of play. Ivan Ríos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raul Carulla's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Romel Mendoza charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romel Mendoza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Romel Mendoza kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Carta Vieja F.C.'s zone, Raul Carulla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Ríos came out of the goal and Raul Carulla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute, Raul Carulla made a precise shot to the right of Ivan Ríos. Carta Vieja F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Iratze Canillas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivan Ríos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raul Carulla's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. The Amazonas fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Amazonas's Raul Carulla looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ivan Ríos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raul Carulla in the 29th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Raul Carulla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Ríos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Iratze Canillas made a precise shot to the right of Ivan Ríos. Carta Vieja F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Raul Carulla took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Ríos. Ivan Ríos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. After a rather tough play, Amazonas's Cristobal Isazi got a free kick in the 40th minute. 43 minutes into the game, Iratze Canillas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Ivan Ríos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 47 minutes, Marcos Villalobos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carta Vieja F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Villalobos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Raul Carulla made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Ricardo Alfaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan Ríos made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Iratze Canillas sent off a good shot on target. When Amazonas's Raul Carulla in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carta Vieja F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Ivan Ríos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Carulla in the 57th minute of play. Oswaldo Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Rafael Tello struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Francis Mallo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carta Vieja F.C.. 64 minutes into the match, Carta Vieja F.C.'s goalkeeper Ivan Ríos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iratze Canillas. During the 65th minute of the match Romel Mendoza completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Romel Mendoza a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Carta Vieja F.C. getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Romel Mendoza hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Iratze Canillas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Carulla in the 71st minute of play forced Carta Vieja F.C.'s goalkeeper Ivan Ríos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 minutes, Cristobal Isazi made it 0-7 with a short kick to the right side. Carta Vieja F.C.'s Ivan Ríos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Cristobal Isazi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Raul Carulla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivan Ríos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. 84 minutes in the game, Raul Carulla fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ivan Ríos having to interfere. Ivan Ríos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Carulla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgardo Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ivan Ríos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carta Vieja F.C.'s Ivan Ríos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Carulla in the 90th minute of play. Amazonas's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
