The referee ignored CA Portugália's protests and gave Carlos Fernando dos Santos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd match minute, CA Portugália was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Fernando dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. Paolo Maldini charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paolo Maldini the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes CA Portugália got a freekick which was hit by Paolo Maldini. Chants of CA Portugália echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Macaco F.C. had held the ball for most of the match.
