Melquiades Amor was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Melquiades Amor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durval de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. When Jovens Democratas MZC's Chico de Sousa in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Dalmo Saldanha made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Arí Machado sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Jovens Democratas MZC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. David Puyol hit a great ball. Dalmo Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arí Machado in the 45th minute. After the first half Jovens Democratas MZC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Laerte Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Melquiades Amor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jovens Democratas MZC. Dalmo Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 95th minute Ardwyad Vulcan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
