Adrian Meinhardt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Nils Elmhuus made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Adrian Meinhardt could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Nils Elmhuus however easily saved by the left post. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Rana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denmark were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Austria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paw Carbac took the corner. The corner ended in Randy Bastard almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Austria's Hans-Jürgen Pötscher did a great save. Nils Elmhuus didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michael-Jan Schönberg went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Rana, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Nils Elmhuus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robin Steckamp's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Austria's Robin Steckamp managed to work through Denmark's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Robin Steckamp dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Denmark:s Nils Elmhuus showed great skill when he stopped Adib Ovi:s penalty. Denmark's Nils Elmhuus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Tschida in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Martin Rana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael-Jan Schönberg in the 47th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Nils Elmhuus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martin Rana made a kick off. Nils Elmhuus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Steckamp in the 51st minute of the match. Nils Elmhuus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Steckamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After a rather tough play, Austria's Michael-Jan Schönberg got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Austria's goalkeeper Hans-Jürgen Pötscher had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Rana. Nils Elmhuus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robin Steckamp's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Nils Elmhuus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Steckamp in the 61st minute of the match. Martin Rana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hans-Jürgen Pötscher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Nils Elmhuus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robin Steckamp in the 65th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Martin Rana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans-Jürgen Pötscher was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Martin Rana sped through Austria's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hans-Jürgen Pötscher. Denmark's Svend Betz was substituted for Børge Buhr. In the 75th minute, Robin Steckamp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nils Elmhuus was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Nichlas Glastrup received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Nichlas Glastrup shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans-Jürgen Pötscher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steffen Eisenheld struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Nils Elmhuus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Austria. Nichlas Glastrup had several of the Austria's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 87 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-3 score and a disappointed Hans-Jürgen Pötscher as he didn't even see the shot coming. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nichlas Glastrup in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hans-Jürgen Pötscher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Steckamp in the 95th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Nils Elmhuus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
