The supporters of Stars Academy booed when Paysandu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paysandu's Jailson Luz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Paysandu from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the match, Celso Estrada notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Paysandu's Jailson Luz. Jailson Luz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 95 minutes into the game, Amado Leite cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Jailson Luz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
