Doni Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vladimir de Almeida in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jailson Luz saved Paysandu from getting behind. Roberto Maciel hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute, Bruno Leme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Váldson da Mata took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otávio Massa. Otávio Massa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 18th minute Váldson da Mata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Danone CC's Dito Braga got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 25 minutes, Váldson da Mata mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paysandu and the Danone CC players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir de Almeida in the 26th minute of play forced Paysandu's goalkeeper Jailson Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Massa having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Danone CC's goalkeeper Otávio Massa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Doni Fonseca. Váldson da Mata got his second yellow card in the match during the 40th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Danone CC booed when Paysandu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Váldson da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vladimir de Almeida made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Bruno Leme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paysandu's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Leme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otávio Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 57 minutes of play Paysandu's Bruno Leme was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 57th match minute, Paysandu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Leme to maneuver through the defense. Paysandu's Jailson Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir de Almeida in the 61st minute of play. A hard shot 63 in the game by Júlio Pena from a close distance when the talented Jailson Luz managed to make a qualified save. Paysandu's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilberto Tróia during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Danone CC's Zézinho Silva was substituted for Mario Balotelli. A collision led to Danone CC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Zézinho Silva hit a great ball. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paysandu's goalkeeper Jailson Luz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho Silva in the 90th minute of play forced Paysandu's goalkeeper Jailson Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Danone CC booed when Paysandu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Danone CC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
