Dale Cummings received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Natalio Arnas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arturo Boruc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tod Monkman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Natalio Arnas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jerry Gamble stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hal Haslem's late challenge caught a Friggle FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hal Haslem helped the player get up and apologised. If Jerry Gamble had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute Tod Monkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Boruc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colchester United's Natalio Arnas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Colchester United from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amedeo Verdecchia in the 67th minute of play forced Colchester United's goalkeeper Natalio Arnas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Friggle FC played a much better game than Colchester United and deserved their victory. The Colchester United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
