The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Stars Academy's Alexandre Infante got a free kick in the 5th minute. With 6 minutes on the clock, Alexandre Infante commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 6 played minutes Stars Academy got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Infante. Almiro Benevides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartjan Parmentier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11thth minute of the game Bartjan Parmentier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stars Academy's Almiro Benevides was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Homero Brochado notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of KFC Paal-Tervant's Reinaud De Schutter. Reinaud De Schutter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the KFC Paal-Tervant defense, Homero Brochado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reinaud De Schutter. The KFC Paal-Tervant fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reinaud De Schutter should have stopped the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Stars Academy's Amado Leite sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reinaud De Schutter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Estrada in the 28th minute of play forced KFC Paal-Tervant's goalkeeper Reinaud De Schutter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Celso Estrada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stars Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Estrada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinaud De Schutter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 32 minutes into the game, Antero Rebocho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stars Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Paal-Tervant the free kick. Antero Rebocho kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Manu Gyselinx charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manu Gyselinx the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd minute, Manu Gyselinx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

KFC Paal-Tervant's Reinaud De Schutter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save KFC Paal-Tervant from getting a goal against them. In the 52nd match minute, KFC Paal-Tervant was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luckas De Wortelaers to maneuver through the defense. Gwenn Preuveneer charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Stars Academy's Cândido Fagundes got a free kick in the 60th minute. Celso Estrada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Reinaud De Schutter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Stars Academy booed when KFC Paal-Tervant was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andris Ceroux didn't get a good kick on the ball. KFC Paal-Tervant's Reinaud De Schutter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antero Rebocho in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Amado Leite was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stars Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Paal-Tervant the free kick. After a rather tough play, Stars Academy's João Camacho got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Almiro Benevides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartjan Parmentier in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th match minute, KFC Paal-Tervant was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Laureijs to maneuver through the defense. After 83 minutes of play, KFC Paal-Tervant's Bartjan Parmentier made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Almiro Benevides was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 86 played minutes Stars Academy got a freekick which was hit by João Camacho. In the 87th minute of the match Luka Dams shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Almiro Benevides showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
