Almiro Benevides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Gimenez, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. After 3 played minutes Stars Academy got a freekick which was hit by Abílio Barata. Severino Cruz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Almiro Benevides. Stars Academy's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Stars Academy's Almiro Benevides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Azibar in the 5th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Stars Academy's Antero Rebocho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricardo Mattin. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. 9 minutes into the match, Severino Cruz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Almiro Benevides. Stars Academy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severino Cruz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some careless play in the Stars Academy defense, Severino Cruz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Almiro Benevides. The Stars Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Almiro Benevides should have stopped the shot. Emiliano Gimenez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almiro Benevides having to interfere. Gaston Sustrai kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. With a little luck, Deportivo el Divague's Ricardo Mattin got control of the ball when Celso Estrada tried to sneak it across the goal line. Homero Brochado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ricardo Mattin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo el Divague's zone, Amado Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Mattin came out of the goal and Amado Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute Alejandro Gagriel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almiro Benevides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deportivo el Divague's Ricardo Mattin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo el Divague from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antero Rebocho in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Mattin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Homero Brochado's late challenge caught a Deportivo el Divague's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Homero Brochado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute, Homero Brochado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emiliano Gimenez made a kick off. Almiro Benevides made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Ernesto Dayam sent off a good shot on target. When Alexandre Infante fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stars Academy's protests and gave Alexandre Infante a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Stars Academy got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Infante. When Joaquin Azibar came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Deportivo el Divague fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquin Azibar couldn't finish the play. Almiro Benevides was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Emiliano Gimenez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Emiliano Gimenez really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. After 59 played minutes Stars Academy got a freekick which was hit by Antero Rebocho. If Emiliano Gimenez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alexandre Infante hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Ricardo Mattin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Leite in the 69th minute of play. Cândido Fagundes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ricardo Mattin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Stars Academy booed when Deportivo el Divague was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Gagriel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emiliano Gimenez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almiro Benevides having to interfere. Ricardo Mattin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amado Leite in the 91st minute of the match. Ricardo Mattin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Leite in the 94th minute of play. The Stars Academy supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Deportivo el Divague's performance. The match ended with a win for Deportivo el Divague.
