Laurín Vela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Arnaldo Schiller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremías Matus during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Barrio Norte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Odón Gurruchaga to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Barrio Norte FC's zone, Salamón Wassermayer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laurín Vela came out of the goal and Salamón Wassermayer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the match, Barrio Norte FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Schiller came free, but Laurín Vela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Odón Gurruchaga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pierre Gamboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eugenio Dietsch to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Arnaldo Schiller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capo de Provincia's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Schiller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Hugo Fermandois didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Eufemio Carmona was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barrio Norte FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capo de Provincia the free kick. After a rather tough play, Barrio Norte FC's Eufemio Carmona got a free kick in the 90th minute. Capo de Provincia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
