Juan Chayo came out and tried to block the shot, but Wang Kun Yang slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 10th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Monte Susanin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Juan Chayo, 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dé Töpper in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerardo Guerau saved The Old Boys from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulino Sayvion got free with Juan Chayo in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juan Chayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florentino Dolfo in the 27th minute of play. Wang Kun Yang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute Paulino Sayvion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Chayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vampiros Aztecas's Juan Chayo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulino Sayvion in the 39th minute of play. Wang Kun Yang struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Juan Chayo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Old Boys. A collision led to Vampiros Aztecas getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Leif Jonasson hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jose Ignazio to make the kick off. The Old Boys's Gerardo Guerau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save The Old Boys from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, The Old Boys's Zygmunt Prusinowski got a free kick in the 55th minute. Juan Chayo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monte Susanin in the 71st minute of the match. Juan Chayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monte Susanin, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute.
