Eduardo Domeka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chico Donato read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Cristobal Goito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olivier Gilg in the 19th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Olivier Gilg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristobal Goito. Carabata Groove's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olivier Gilg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, DIPLOMATA FC PAB's José Augusto Lara got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Carabata Groove's goal looked a bit too open when Olivier Gilg came free, but Cristobal Goito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olivier Gilg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristobal Goito having to make a save. 30 minutes into the match, Carabata Groove's goal looked a bit too open when Olivier Gilg came free, but Cristobal Goito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Eduardo Domeka took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Chico Donato to make any attempt to save it. Chico Donato made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eduardo Domeka in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Lopes in the 40th minute of play forced Carabata Groove's goalkeeper Cristobal Goito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olivier Gilg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Goito having to interfere. DIPLOMATA FC PAB made a substitution. Arnulfo Dolfos replaced Alan Franco. Cristobal Goito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olivier Gilg, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

DIPLOMATA FC PAB's Niculae Martinescu was substituted for Song Xiong Hong. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hauk Hareide in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chico Donato prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The corner led to Carabata Groove's Toninho Santos getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 60 minutes into the game, Roberto Lopes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cristobal Goito. Roberto Lopes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. 69 minutes into the match, DIPLOMATA FC PAB's goal looked a bit too open when Hauk Hareide came free, but Chico Donato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hauk Hareide struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Chico Donato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carabata Groove. 83 minutes into the match, Carabata Groove's Hauk Hareide sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chico Donato narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind DIPLOMATA FC PAB's goalkeeper Chico Donato, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Carabata Groove's goalkeeper Cristobal Goito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olivier Gilg. DIPLOMATA FC PAB's Rodrigo Cisterna was substituted for Arnulfo Dolfos. José Augusto Lara hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute Rene Bernad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Donato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Carabata Groove lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
