The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anton Björnberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Domingo Barcena went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Anton Björnberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Muharrem Duman went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 21st minute, Salvador Mateluna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domingo Barcena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Anton Björnberg made a huge save. Domingo Barcena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tobías Izamit might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ariel Balboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tobías Izamit ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vatan Enfal made a kick off. Vatan Enfal made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 53rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Ariel Balboa would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. With a little luck, U. de Tarapacá's Ariel Balboa got control of the ball when Vatan Enfal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Domingo Barcena might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anton Björnberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Domingo Barcena ran back to his position shaking his head. U. de Tarapacá made a substitution. Orfilio Orbañanos replaced Domingo Barcena. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tobías Izamit during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 63 played minutes Inter de Chillán got a freekick which was hit by Tobías Izamit. Inter de Chillán made a substitution. Marcel Wassermayer replaced Chen Feng Jian. Tobías Izamit hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the game, U. de Tarapacá's Orfilio Orbañanos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anton Björnberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. A collision led to U. de Tarapacá getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. León Philippi hit a great ball. Ariel Balboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Abel in the 68th minute of the match. Anton Björnberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kim Heers in the 72nd minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's Orfilio Orbañanos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anton Björnberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Estevan Espínola kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Inter de Chillán's Tobías Izamit got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ariel Balboa made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Florencio Jax sent off a good shot on target. Marcel Wassermayer got a throw-in 91 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Samuel Abel. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter de Chillán's goalkeeper Anton Björnberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. U. de Tarapacá's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
