Eriberto Queirós made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Dagoberto Dracena sent off a good shot on target. After 3 played minutes Engenheiros da Vila got a freekick which was hit by Sture Vik. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Rius in the 6th minute of play forced Engenheiros da Vila's goalkeeper Eriberto Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fulgencio Rius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dagoberto Dracena in the 9thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eriberto Queirós, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Engenheiros da Vila's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Dagoberto Dracena 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 18 minutes into the game, Engenheiros da Vila's Geraldo Fernandez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tiaguinho Correia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The audience was convinced that Dagoberto Dracena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eriberto Queirós was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 29th minute Dagoberto Dracena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiaguinho Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The wind increased when Geraldo Fernandez made the kick off in the second half. But to his dismay, Dagoberto Dracena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Eriberto Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Engenheiros da Vila's Eriberto Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto Dracena in the 56th minute of play. Eusébio Castro's late challenge caught a Trindade Atlético Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusébio Castro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th match minute, Engenheiros da Vila was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusébio Castro to maneuver through the defense. Trindade Atlético Club's Falcão de Barros couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 60th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Engenheiros da Vila. The supporters of Engenheiros da Vila booed when Trindade Atlético Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position.
