An unexpectedly hard shot by Christiano Barreto in the 5th minute of play forced E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalkeeper Geraldo Eger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guto Kleber succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 6th playminute. The crowd rose to their feet as Leões do Sul 53's Raúl Motta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Geraldo Eger. That made the score 2-0 after 13 minutes of play. Geraldo Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christiano Barreto in the 19th minute of play. Leões do Sul 53's Guto Kleber was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Geraldo Eger in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 27th minute, Dário Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st match minute, Leões do Sul 53 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guto Kleber to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Rony Rüşti reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Geraldo Eger. The goal made the score 6-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The audience was convinced that Guto Kleber's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geraldo Eger was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Kraig Sandoval might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geraldo Eger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kraig Sandoval ran back to his position shaking his head. 64 minutes in the game, Guto Kleber dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Rony Rüşti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leões do Sul 53's supporters rose to their feet, but Rony Rüşti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geraldo Eger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Basílio Ortiz's late challenge caught a Leões do Sul 53's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basílio Ortiz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Basílio Ortiz got a free kick in the 70th minute. If Guto Kleber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Guto Kleber struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Geraldo Eger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leões do Sul 53. Cristóvão Heidemann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of E.C 2 Janeiro RS booed when Leões do Sul 53 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guto Kleber didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Leões do Sul 53's Cristóvão Heidemann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geraldo Eger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. There was no doubt that Leões do Sul 53 were the better team. Leões do Sul 53's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
