SC Braga's Amado Parente managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rubinho Valle in the 91 minute of the game. In the 92nd minute, one of MarquinhosEC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for MarquinhosEC. If Antonio Cieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. SC Braga were victorious despite being under pressure from MarquinhosEC for much of the match.
