A collision led to VB-Team getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Yu Ke Hong hit a great ball. AFK Petržalka's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Peter Pekarík in the 33rd minute. Sandro Leitão kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. VB-Team's Armindo Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomáš Požgaj in the 35th minute of play. After 36 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Okoyomon Charles Bukowski. Joaquim de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half AFK Petržalka were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquim de Barros was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim de Barros came free, but Štefan Semeno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomáš Požgaj struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Armindo Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFK Petržalka. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michal Hudák in the 85th minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Luís Caeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Štefan Semeno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched AFK Petržalka eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
