S S Palestra Italia's Robinho Castro quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Aybek Lami, made in the 11th minute of the game. Jarbas Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute Zé Roberto Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paşa Nada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as S S Palestra Italia's Inácio Figueiredo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paşa Nada. That made the score 1-1 after 22 minutes of play. A throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game was made by Aybek Lami with Pan Nan Yuan as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 34 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goal looked a bit too open when Manoel dos Santos came free, but Jarbas Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Operário Futebol Clube reached it. Jarbas Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manoel dos Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Mané Veiga could shoot a difficult shot in the 55th minute, which Jarbas Guedes however easily saved by the left post. After 60 minutes, Robinho Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S S Palestra Italia and the Operário Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jarbas Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manoel dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Jarbas Guedes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mané Veiga in the 66th minute. With a little luck, S S Palestra Italia's Jarbas Guedes got control of the ball when Reis Birsel tried to sneak it across the goal line. S S Palestra Italia's Jarbas Guedes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save S S Palestra Italia from getting a goal against them. 73 minutes into the match, Inácio Figueiredo notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Operário Futebol Clube's Paşa Nada. The audience thought a goal was coming when İrfan Ilgıt got free with Jarbas Guedes in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jarbas Guedes made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Mané Veiga sent off a good shot on target. When Gavino Quexal fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S S Palestra Italia's protests and gave Gavino Quexal a yellow card for diving instead. Gavino Quexal hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Manoel dos Santos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jarbas Guedes came out and tried to block the shot, but Manoel dos Santos slotted it home off the left post making it 4-3 in the 94th minute. The S S Palestra Italia support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
