After 27 minutes of play, Independiente's Isidoro Beltran made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rui Figueiras was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the match, DALO S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Beltran came free, but Rui Figueiras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Albano Bertol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Rui Figueiras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Hanot, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Pepe Santoro made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when German Fias sent off a good shot on target. 38 minutes into the match, Isidoro Beltran notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of DALO S.C.'s Rui Figueiras. Rui Figueiras was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Roberto Hanot took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rui Figueiras. Rui Figueiras dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 44th minute Lode Van Hemel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepe Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Independiente were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and German Fias made a kick off. After 51 played minutes DALO S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Respaldizar. Napoleon Dropinski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui Figueiras read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Rui Figueiras made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorg Pieters in the 58th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 58 minutes into the game, when Fausto Respaldizar put in a rough tackle. In the 69th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Beltran to maneuver through the defense. Putte von der Putten charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Putte von der Putten the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pepe Santoro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lode Van Hemel went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. Rui Figueiras stood somewhat misplaced when Jorg Pieters came free in front of goal and shot 1-7 to the left of him in the 90 minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Albano Bertol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Albano Bertol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Figueiras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
