The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Paysandu's Dida Mesquita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olav Suur made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 18th minute of the match Punua got a corner. Paysandu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Prospero Santo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Prospero Santo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Paysandu's Clemente Vasconcelos did a great save. After 21 played minutes Punua got a freekick which was hit by Igor Frans. When Mikkel Lilleland came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Paysandu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mikkel Lilleland couldn't finish the play. Prudencio Bras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Vasconcelos having to interfere. Olav Suur was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mikkel Lilleland showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 28 minute of play. Paysandu's attentive Miguel Victoro managed to snatch the ball when Remigio Giro made a throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game. Remigio Giro hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Punua's Prudencio Bras got a free kick in the 43rd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Prudencio Bras could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Clemente Vasconcelos made a huge save. The nice shot from Prudencio Bras in the 51stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Clemente Vasconcelos had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. If Prudencio Bras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Punua made a substitution. Cristoffer Uchiha replaced Damaso Gotzon. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dida Mesquita in the 70th minute of play forced Punua's goalkeeper Olav Suur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute, Octavio Sidro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 72 played minutes Paysandu got a freekick which was hit by Octavio Sidro. The long shot by Mihai Ozon in the 73rd minute really tested Clemente Vasconcelos's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Hélder Marquez hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Niceto Frutos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute of the match Mikkel Lilleland shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Olav Suur showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Paysandu's goal looked a bit too open when Prospero Santo came free, but Clemente Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clemente Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prospero Santo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, Ramón Camargo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Punua's goalkeeper Olav Suur, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 92 minutes Punua's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mikkel Lilleland who took care of the corner kick. In the 94th minute, Remigio Giro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Paysandu had won after a very even match.
