In the 3rd minute Hernan Lano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Chiuzbaian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivan Chiuzbaian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrián Espadas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 10 minutes Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gustavo Tartalo who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Gustavo Tartalo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian did a great save. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Lano in the 15th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goalkeeper Dan Wennerqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zhao Sen Yang. In the 20th minute of the game Cyprien Combaz made a throw-in which Zézinho Neiva played forward. Ivan Chiuzbaian stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adrián Espadas's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After 30 minutes Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gustavo Tartalo who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Cyprien Combaz heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrián Espadas was the one to do the kick off. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Adrián Espadas sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrián Espadas in the 59th minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Ivan Chiuzbaian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hernan Lano struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Ivan Chiuzbaian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Soroca F.C.. 67 minutes in the game, Zhao Sen Yang dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Emil Wielopolski was substituted for Grigore Maghiran. 73 minutes into the game, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dan Wennerqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With 80 minutes on the clock, Cássio Zonta commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Soroca F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-:s goal. Dan Wennerqvist had in the 81stth minute some difficulties stopping Zhao Sen Yang's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The audience was convinced that Zhao Sen Yang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dan Wennerqvist was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Dan Wennerqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Răzvan Necula sent off a good shot on target. When Zhao Sen Yang came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zhao Sen Yang couldn't finish the play. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
