The crowd rose to their feet as Congo Bongo's Damaso Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alisson Becker. That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. Real Juniors's attentive Boruc Zdanowicz managed to snatch the ball when Wu Hong Ning made a throw-in in the 7th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Kazczyk in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Máté Márton saved Congo Bongo from getting behind. In the 11th match minute, Real Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Redondo to maneuver through the defense. Damaso Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ahmet Efe Suheyl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Efe Suheyl in the 15th minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Máté Márton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute Ahmet Efe Suheyl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Máté Márton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Javi Pinola got a throw-in 26 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ahmet Efe Suheyl. If Damaso Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Máté Márton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Kazczyk in the 30th minute of play. Alisson Becker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damaso Sancho in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Roland Redondo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Congo Bongo's Máté Márton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Kazczyk in the 37th minute of play. Real Juniors were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Congo Bongo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roland Redondo took the corner. Máté Márton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Efe Suheyl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ahmet Efe Suheyl stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Congo Bongo's Máté Márton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Congo Bongo from getting a goal against them. Real Juniors made a substitution. Claudio Cabrera replaced Rosario Cornett. In the 82nd minute of the match Real Juniors got a corner. Congo Bongo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roland Redondo ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Ahmet Efe Suheyl got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Máté Márton quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Alisson Becker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. When Real Juniors's Sebastian Kazczyk in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Congo Bongo's Damaso Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Real Juniors made a substitution. Miguel Ángel Benito replaced Ahmet Efe Suheyl. When Damaso Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Congo Bongo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damaso Sancho couldn't finish the play. Wu Hong Ning made in the 93rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Damaso Sancho however managed to control. Javi Pinola's late challenge caught a Congo Bongo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Javi Pinola helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Real Juniors's Javi Pinola got a free kick in the 95th minute. Congo Bongo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
