In the 3rd match minute, Club A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Astigar to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Congo Bongo booed when Club A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Generoso Blai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Club A. Independiente's zone, Franz Beckenbauer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roque Rexino came out of the goal and Franz Beckenbauer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Congo Bongo's Damaso Sancho in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club A. Independiente's goalie prevented a goal. In the 15th minute, Damaso Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roque Rexino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Damaso Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Damaso Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roque Rexino was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Club A. Independiente defense, Damaso Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roque Rexino. The Club A. Independiente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roque Rexino should have stopped the shot. Damaso Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Roque Rexino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Damaso Sancho in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roque Rexino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42nd minute of the game Aquilino Karlo made a throw-in which Andres Ishmael played forward. The throw-in from Aquilino Karlo in the 44th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Congo Bongo's Omar Erramun. Damaso Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Roque Rexino was a little too slow when Damaso Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 0-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Damaso Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roque Rexino. That made the score 0-5 in the 59 minute of play. Damaso Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 66 minutes into the match, Club A. Independiente's goalkeeper Roque Rexino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Damaso Sancho. Damaso Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Congo Bongo booed when Club A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aquilino Karlo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kaj-Åke Kaká received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Roque Rexino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kaj-Åke Kaká hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Club A. Independiente's Aquilino Karlo got a free kick in the 85th minute. Roque Rexino was a little too slow when Damaso Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-6. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damaso Sancho got free with Roque Rexino in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded Congo Bongo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club A. Independiente.
