Isaac Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio-Paul Pirinchev, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Isaac Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ervigio Ojeda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Acácio da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glenn Fyfe having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ervigio Ojeda made a kick off. Claudio-Paul Pirinchev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chile made a substitution. Thomas Cochrane replaced Claudio-Paul Pirinchev. In the 70thth minute of the game Rafael Maria Píriz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brazil's Isaac Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 77th minute, Thomas Cochrane got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Sena in the 88th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Glenn Fyfe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes in the game Isaac Ibarbia did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rogelio Mendiola. Luiz Fabiano Sena hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
