Venancio Dolcet came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Ɍυƒυs™'s Gervásio Lages. But to his dismay, Gervásio Lages quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gervásio Lages in the 20th minute of play forced Chivos's goalkeeper Venancio Dolcet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Chivos's Mariano Palben got a free kick in the 20th minute. Gervásio Lages recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24th minute, Gervásio Lages ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Venancio Dolcet was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Chivos's Venancio Dolcet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervásio Lages in the 32nd minute of play. If Higino Viveiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The audience was convinced that Aquilino Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lourenço Velasques was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. With an all-out effort, Ɍυƒυs™'s Venancio Dolcet threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gervásio Lages, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gusmão Leiria got free with Venancio Dolcet in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Venancio Dolcet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervásio Lages in the 64th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Gusmão Leiria notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Chivos's Venancio Dolcet. Venancio Dolcet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
