Benjamin Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Ubelteso, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 5th minute, Ronaldo Gol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rockets fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Róbson Messias kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. The supporters of Chivos booed when Rockets was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute of the match Aaron Giraldo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benjamin Mazza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Rockets defense, Denis Ubelteso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamin Mazza. The Rockets fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamin Mazza should have stopped the shot. Ronaldo Gol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toninho Terra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Venancio Dolcet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ronaldo Gol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramon Montes hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Tales de Carvalho was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Róbson Messias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Venancio Dolcet. That made the score 2-1 in the 25 minute of play. In the 30th play minute Róbson Messias came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Venancio Dolcet. 3-1. Venancio Dolcet was a little too slow when Róbson Messias got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 4-1. With an all-out effort, Rockets's Venancio Dolcet threw himself towards the right post 48 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ronaldo Gol, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Róbson Messias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chivos's Venancio Dolcet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Gol in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilvan Chaves in the 58th minute of play forced Chivos's goalkeeper Venancio Dolcet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Róbson Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 60 minutes of play, Rockets's Toninho Terra made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Venancio Dolcet was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 64th minute, Róbson Messias made a precise shot to the right of Venancio Dolcet. Chivos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Benjamin Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Osoro in the 67th minute of the match. When Abelardo Rocha fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rockets's protests and gave Abelardo Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute Denis Ubelteso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Messias in the 73rd minute of play forced Chivos's goalkeeper Venancio Dolcet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Chivos's goal looked a bit too open when Róbson Messias came free, but Venancio Dolcet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Gol notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Chivos's Venancio Dolcet. Venancio Dolcet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Gilvan Chaves came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Rockets fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilvan Chaves couldn't finish the play. Rockets's Benjamin Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Giraldo in the 94th minute of play. After some careless play in the Chivos defense, Ronaldo Gol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Venancio Dolcet. The Chivos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Venancio Dolcet should have stopped the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Rockets had played much better football throughout.
