When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Miromir Misiorowski sped through Granate's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Palmquist. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christos Triantafyllou to make the kick off. Lev Yashin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christos Triantafyllou's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. LUPO f.c's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Enzo Hermon ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Enzo Hermon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lev Yashin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Jens Van Dessel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Jaakko Ramstadius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christos Triantafyllou in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lev Yashin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christos Triantafyllou in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lev Yashin saved LUPO f.c from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Jaakko Ramstadius's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lev Yashin was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. If Teodoro Rafe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute.
