The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vladimir Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Rogério Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6 minutes into the match, Marinos Androulakis notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Vila Nova FC's Fiori Mota. Fiori Mota was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mete Nared got free with Rogério Paraense in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mete Nared who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Rogério Paraense when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Jiang Nan Han came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Vila Nova FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jiang Nan Han couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Vila Nova FC booed when Zandarin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luís Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jiang Nan Han recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogério Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Basso in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to Zandarin FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Cido Souza hit a great ball. Rogério Paraense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Postelnicescu in the 22nd minute of the match. Leonardo Giroud struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Rogério Paraense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vila Nova FC. A collision led to Zandarin FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Gláuber de Amorim hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Vila Nova FC's Rogério Paraense threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luca Postelnicescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marinos Androulakis in the 29th minute of play forced Vila Nova FC's goalkeeper Fiori Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Luca Postelnicescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute of the match, Vladimir Lara tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rogério Paraense saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a little luck, Zandarin FC's Rogério Paraense got control of the ball when Cléber Basso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zandarin FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. If Vladimir Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alfredinho Camargo fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zandarin FC's protests and gave Alfredinho Camargo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd match minute, Zandarin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredinho Camargo to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luca Postelnicescu in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogério Paraense saved Zandarin FC from getting behind. Rogério Paraense came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Vila Nova FC's Cléber Basso. But to his dismay, Cléber Basso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 92nd minute, Jiang Nan Han hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rogério Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Basso in the 95th minute of play. Cléber Basso took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rogério Paraense. Rogério Paraense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Vila Nova FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
