The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilton de Amaral got free with Jano Neves in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Freitas in the 7th minute of play forced Karaboudjan's goalkeeper Jefferson do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, Wilton de Amaral fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 22nd minute, Wilton de Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jefferson do Vale came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by TAQUARI FC's Luís Paulo França. But to his dismay, Luís Paulo França quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. TAQUARI FC's Jano Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save TAQUARI FC from getting a goal against them. Valdir Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson do Vale having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Antony Donnelly kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jano Neves. That made the score 1-1 in the 36 minute of play. In the 41st minute, Gilmar Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Evaristo Tolino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filomeno Nicholas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Jano Neves made a huge save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when David Freitas made the kick off in the second half. Filomeno Nicholas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jano Neves having to make a save. Antony Donnelly succeeded in the game's 61st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. If Filomeno Nicholas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 66 minutes, Evaristo Tolino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karaboudjan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo Tolino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Paulo França could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Jefferson do Vale made a huge save. A collision led to Karaboudjan getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Almir da Fonseca hit a great ball. TAQUARI FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Durvalino de Amaral in the 71st minute. After taking down the ball on TAQUARI FC's corner Iuri Simões fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jefferson do Vale quite easily take care of the ball. In the 75th match minute, TAQUARI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo França to maneuver through the defense. If Evaristo Tolino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jano Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Tolino in the 85th minute of the match. After having played for 92 minutes, Evaristo Tolino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karaboudjan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo Tolino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karaboudjan's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
