The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when CE LAJEADENSE RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Eger came free, but Lauro Linhares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Marcelo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Glauco Paranaense was the one to do the kick off. Doni Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer Ramos in the 54th minute of play. In the 54th minute, Luís Gustavo Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 55th minute of the match Marcelo Eger sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lauro Linhares skillfully saved the ball. The Castanheiro SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when CE LAJEADENSE RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís de Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júnior Alagoano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serafim Cearense kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Lauro Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júnior Alagoano in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Sarmento in the 86th minute of play forced CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Lauro Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Doni Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer Ramos in the 89th minute of play. Telmo da Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lauro Linhares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Telmo da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Lauro Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Castanheiro SC were the better team. Castanheiro SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
