With his leg Valdo Catarinense managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Jovens Democratas MZC's Emanuel Branco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Wilian Antunes's late challenge caught a SORRISO E. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilian Antunes helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horácio Pereira in the 8th minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Marquinhos Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeferson Santana got free with Valdo Catarinense in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cláudio Couto struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Marquinhos Diniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SORRISO E. C.. Wilian Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jairo Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Jovens Democratas MZC were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after SORRISO E. C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jeferson Santana took the corner. Horácio Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Diniz having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Wilian Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdo Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marquinhos Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinaldo Marquez in the 34th minute of play. Valdo Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilian Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The corner ended in Jeferson Santana almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SORRISO E. C.'s Valdo Catarinense did a great save. Cláudio Couto struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. With an all-out effort, Jovens Democratas MZC's Valdo Catarinense threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wilian Antunes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilian Antunes was the one to do the kick off. Alberto Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Marquinhos Diniz made a huge save. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horácio Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Jovens Democratas MZC's Marquinhos Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horácio Pereira in the 79th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vítor Sousa during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st minute, Vítor Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 83 played minutes Jovens Democratas MZC got a freekick which was hit by César Coelho. Valdo Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Branco in the 87th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulinho Fonseca in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdo Catarinense saved SORRISO E. C. from getting behind. Alberto Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Marquinhos Diniz made a huge save. Jovens Democratas MZC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SORRISO E. C. for a fine match.
